Find Your Next Lover on Halloween NightOld English folklore about Halloween is full of superstition and
fortune-telling that still lingers today, like bobbing for apples or
avoiding black cats. One piece of folklore says that if a young
unmarried person walks down the stairs backwards at midnight while
holding a mirror, the face that appears in the mirror will be their next
lover.

It's exactly one week to the day that I arrived in Columbus, OH. I'm elated to be back! Now to get down to business. Bloggers should post once every 3 days or so, and I'm far behind schedule, but life is moving full speed ahead. Kansas City, MO was my last stop on the road. That was Tuesday, November 3rd and the last date I blogged. I headed out that afternoon around 1:30PM after a much needed rest at the hotel. I drove until I reached my new homestead. What should have been a 9-10 hour road trip (without stops) took much longer due to my fatigue. It was 2:AM when I set foot in my Columbus, OH apartment. Needing a hot shower to relax and unwind, I headed into the bathroom with my overnight bag. It felt great to wash off the grime of the road. At 4:00AM, I was finally getting to bed, but not for long. I had to meet the moving truck, an 18-wheeler, at my storage space at 9:00AM. I rented a space with Public Storage, advised the contracting agent of the truck's size...
Our Journey - Wednesday, June 22, 2022 Vegas Baby! The ride from Flagstaff to Vegas was easy and scenic. We passed through majestic mountains as we entered Nevada. It was breath-taking. Soon enough, we were passing through the Hoover Dam area. I felt a wave of relief knowing that I was so close to home. The driving would soon end, but unloading the trailer and returning it was still ahead of us. During our journey home, we became aware that we would not be able to safely maneuver the trailer in and out of our cul-de-sac. We had to unload elsewhere, so I secured a storage unit and movers. By 3:30PM on Wednesday, the trailer was unloaded and it was returned to U-haul. I let out another sigh of relief. However, it's not over yet. Tomorrow, we have a one-hour drive to pickup our cat. Our cat Lola was originally booked into a condo at a pet hotel. However, Harry's friend Ronnie insisted on taking care of her in his home outside of the city. Thank you Ronnie, Brandi, and fam...
Each life experience changes the things that lie within the deepest chambers of our hearts and the inner core of our souls. Among those experiences is the death of a person that you loved more than most. January 1, 2020, the clock struck the hour of "death" and the bad news was delivered. My brother was found dead in his bathtub. My mother was in her room on the second story, oblivious to the passing of her only son. Earlier that day, my brother's neighbors noticed a build-up of deliveries on his front porch, and the mail had started to accumulate. One of those neighbors decided to investigate the scene. He went up to the door, knocked, rang the bell, approached the side door and slider, but to no avail. The windows were locked, and nothing could be seen from the outside. The police were summoned. Upon arrival, they banged on the doors, yelled out, but no reply, no signs of life. They decided to force entry. The odor of death was in the air as they yelled out the word ...
