My Letter to President Zelensky

My Letter to President Zelensky

President Zelensky,

I admire your courageous actions against Russia. You have stood-up to one of the world's most fierce leaders. We are all watching as you bravely protect your country and its great people.

You acted in a civil manner when Russia pointed its missiles at the Ukraine because you are a man of integrity and decency. However, I deeply regret that you overlooked the fact that you were, and still are, dealing with a man that is an emotionally crippled psychopath. Make no mistake, I am talking about President Putin.

It is too late to remind you that Putin is a warrior of high intelligence. His KGB background and political experience has well prepared him to forge forward into battle to rebuild the Iron Curtain. However, Putin's narcissism caused him to miss the fact that the world is bigger than Putin.

Mr Zelensky, your eyes were not wide open.  The obvious threats have been present since late 2021 when Russian troops were moving in on your borders. It appeared the Russians were positioning themselves for a strike. You did take notice and placed several calls to Putin. He turned a deaf ear and did not respond. Putin sent a loud message. With all due respect, you turned a deaf ear.

President Zelensky, you missed your opportunity to guard Kyiv from its enemies. Proactively speaking, it would have been a good is idea to protect your capital, Ukraine's most populous city, with military forces. What the hell were you thinking?

Let's look at the facts. By December 3, 2021, at least 70,000 Russian troops were near the borders of the Ukraine. Putin has set the stage. All the while, Putin is denying plans to invade and claiming the troops are in training.

As President of the Ukraine, it's your responsibility to know the ugly head of your enemies. Putin's biography speaks for itself.  Putin's desire to take control of what was once under behind the Iron Curtain was never a secret. His vicious needs have manifested into forceful action to regain control of the Ukraine.

It's truly amazing watching the Ukraine taking a stand against one of the most powerful countries known to man. While other leaders may have submitted to Russia, the Ukrainians stood firmly in place, proudly defending the Ukrainian flag. May it fly forever.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the families of those that lost loved ones in battle. My best wishes for the Ukraine's victorious end.

Very truly,

Sharon A Stewart - Proud to be an American!
